Resealing a Bath
Reseal a bath so it stays sealed: decide whether it’s your job, take the old bead out completely, load the bath, run and tool the new bead, and let it cure.
Is this your job?
A good bath seal is mostly preparation; the bead itself is the last ten minutes. Before you start, check the job is a reseal and nothing more: the bath is firm when you stand in it, there’s no stain or soft patch below, and the wall behind the bead feels solid. If any of those is in doubt, that comes first. If you rent, get your landlord’s agreement before you start.
Read the labels on the sealant and on any remover or cleaner before you open them, and follow what they say about ventilation and protecting your eyes and skin. Open the window or run the fan, keep children and pets out of the room, and never mix cleaning products.
