A chronotype is a tendency towards earlier or later sleep and activity timing. People differ, and the tendency can change with age and circumstances.
Biology, light exposure and daily demands interact. A preference for later sleep is not a moral failing. It is also not enough, by itself, to explain persistent difficulty sleeping or staying awake.
