Borrowing is not a moral verdict. It brings a purchase forward in exchange for future obligations. Judge the purpose, total cost, repayment capacity, security and alternatives together.
“Good debt” and “bad debt” are shortcuts that can hide these questions. A useful purchase can still have unaffordable finance; an asset can fall in value while the debt remains.
