When measurements show a local coverage problem, another access point may help. A mesh system coordinates several access points, commonly called nodes, so they can cover different parts of a home.

Each node needs a working path back to the router. That path, called backhaul, may be wireless or wired. A node can offer a strong local signal while its onward connection is poor.

Start with the measured task, building constraints and existing equipment. More nodes are not automatically better, and no coverage product repairs every incoming broadband or device fault.
